Amantur Japarov, a Kyrgyz ethnologist and anthropologist, is the head of the Department of Archeology and Ethnology of the Institute of History of the National Science Academy of Kyrgyzstan. He is also the coordinator of the French Institute for Studies on Central Asia (IFEAC) in Bishkek.

In this interview, Amantur Japarov tells about his way of scientist, presents his researches’ themes, namely the kyrgyz nomadism, the kyrgyz society, culture and traditions. He also narrates about his beneficial and productive cooperation with the french researchers in Foundation of Human Sciences House (FMSH). A.Japarov notes that one of the most interesting moments of this project was the study of tuareg nomadism during the field works in Niger.
