The Audiovisual Research Archives Program (ARA) of ESCoM welcomes you to its portal devoted to scientific and cultural heritage. ARA’s material covers all the human and social sciences and has an international focus on research, education, development, and intercultural dialogue.

ARA’s audiovisual collections are available to everyone. They currently include 5298 hours of video on the major issues and topics in all disciplines of the human and social sciences. An international network composed of 2364 researchers, teachers, experts, professionals, artists and writers, social actors, decision-makers, and even just participants from over 70 countries have built an exceptional knowledge base in 15 languages. It is currently composed of 355 interviews, 164 colloquiums and study days, 68 research seminars, and 50 special reports and documentaries.

Accès au site du projet ASA-SHS

ARA Program is supported by the French ANR project called "ASA-SHS". ASA-SHS is a R&D project financed by the French National Research Agency (ANR, Programme Blanc 2008) and targets to develop strategies of indexing and semiotic description for audiovisual resources in Social and Human Sciences. Website

CONVERGENCE - a new European R&D project (FP7-N°257123) coordinated by the CNIT (Consorzio Nazionale Interuniversitario per le Telecomunicazioni) in Roma, Italy. This project will enable ESCoM-FMSH to develop, test and validate a new ARA service for the creation and management of personal audiovisual archives – service which will be made available during the end of 2011 to researchers, teachers and (institutional and individual) actors working in the digital preservation culture.
