In order to analyze how the body has been studied and interpreted by science and philosophy, we have organized our research around two broad axes that have been being developed since 1986: the scientific disincarnation of the body and the description of the incarnated subject using philosophies of the body. Our goal is to link body epistemology and ontology by demonstrating how shaping the body presupposes having an implicit ontological conception of the body.
